Reserved Matters Application submitted for Oxford North’s Canalside new homes

30/03/2022

Thomas White Oxford’s residential development partner, Hill Group, has submitted to Oxford City Council a reserved matters application (RMA) for construction of the first phase of Oxford North’s new homes at Canalside, on land south of the A40.

With outline planning permission for Oxford North’s overall masterplan granted in March 2021, Hill Group has made the application for the outstanding reserved matters, which includes information such as the new homes’ design, appearance, layout and low carbon living initiatives.

The application covers 317 new houses and apartments, of which 111 will be affordable, along with a new landscaped square.

An application for Canalside Park and a new street to form the access road into the new homes’ development has been made separately by Thomas White Oxford.

William Donger, chief executive, Thomas White Oxford said: “This application means that we are a step closer to building the first phase of much-needed new homes to form this new community for Oxford. Hill Group has been professional in its approach to working as a fundamental part of this project and we look forward to continuing this relationship.”

The combined scheme has been subject to discussions with Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire County Council, the Oxford Design Review Panel (ODRP) and online and in person public consultations.

Acting on behalf of Hill Group is Pollard Thomas EdwardsMeinhardt, Vectos, Savills, LDA Design and Max Fordham.

Planning reference number: 22/00675/RES.
