Oxford North was once again proud to sponsor the Pint of Science Festival 2025.
The #pint25 evening events - which all sold out - took place from 19 to 21 May, featuring a series of nine engaging gatherings spread across three pubs in Oxford, brilliantly orchestrated by an exceptional team of volunteers.
There were nearly 450 events in more than 45 towns/cities in the UK, involving nearly 1,000 speakers and 1,000 volunteers from 50 institutions/universities.
They also had events in 25 other countries all on the same dates!
During this vibrant festival, we had the pleasure of meeting visionary scientists and engineers delving into a fascinating array of subjects. Topics ranged from "The Battle Against Our Own Genes" to "Under the Bonnet of Automotive Engineering" and "From AI to the Microbiome: Exploring the Frontiers of Modern Medicine" and "Rebuilding the Human."
One noteworthy photo captures the team in action at the "Detecting the Undetectable" event, where Dr Niamh Fearon took attendees on an enlightening journey into the realm of dark matter discussing how physicists are striving to unravel the true nature of this elusive material.
Additionally, Aayush Saxena presented insights on The James Webb Space Telescope - the remarkable $10 billion technological achievement that is reshaping our understanding of the Universe.
As we prepare to open later this year, supporting such events is at our core, as we firmly believe in their incredible potential to unite people in exploration and discovery that are shaping the future, with Oxford at the forefront of innovation.
A big thank you to the whole Pint of Science team!
