Our Program

Oxford North Toronto is a writing center for the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board (NDHCB) Exam.  Our writing centre code is 05-024.

Oxford North Toronto offers an 18 month dental hygiene program designed to prepare students to practice as primary oral health care providers in a variety of practice environments.  Dental hygienists are preventive specialists who provide oral health services based on scientific knowledge and a client-centered model of care.  As members of a self-regulated profession, dental hygienists are responsible to the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario.  Program emphasis is on preparing students to function within their scope of practice, in a collaborative manner, with the client, the community and other health care providers.

Note: Oxford North Toronto makes every effort within its means to help students acquire clients for the clinic portion of our program.  However, as with all dental hygiene schools in Ontario, students are ultimately responsible for ensuring that they have a sufficient number of clients for the duration of the program.

Graduates of this program must successfully complete the National Dental Hygiene Certification Examination and/or other requirements to be eligible for registration by the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, or other recognized licensing authority in Canada.
